First and Second Grade Integrated Unit on Natural Fibers
This unit was designed to be an integration of science, social studies and literacy. For the month of February, students were engaged in reflection on the difference between a natural resource, a raw material and a man-made product. They participated in hands on exploration of different fiber types/sources and practiced the steps of processing a natural resource (wool) into a man-made product (cloth).
